my husband's grandfather, mietek. 98 years old. and still kicking on. this man tells the absolute best jokes, and he has literally got a library of them stored in his brain. this photo is of him, moments after telling one of his jokes that he, too, happened to find hilarious. classic and beautiful.
and how perfect is this? i've always been fascinated by how his fingers swish and swirl on whatever surface they find nearest. i suppose when you are near-blind and near-deaf, textures and touch become much more important. here, he glides his fingertips over a nearby nail file.
